A B O U T M E R L I N® Smart POS Solutions Ltd introduce a completely new concept in retail technology with Merlin®, the 'Wizard of Retailing'. We recognise that cost is a major factor for most retailers considering an Electronic Point of Sale system. Although EPOS technology will undoubtedly enable these retailers to increase their profits and compete more effectively, they shy away from it because it usually means an investment of thousands of pounds. If this fear of the cost is preventing you and your business from discovering the benefits of EPOS, perhaps Merlin® can help. In its basic form, Merlin® is a software package that will give you all the tools necessary to bring your business under control. These include all Sales functions for Cash and Credit, Stock Control and Replenishment, plus detailed Analysis and Reporting. Rather than costing several thousands of pounds, Merlin® offers a very low start-up cost. It can give you this vital control for just a few hundred pounds. The main reason that Merlin® can cost so little to implement is that it is completely independent of any hardware platform. It is fully Windows based, and will operate on a standard PC, a PC-based till, or even a touch screen unit - as long as that machine is running any version of Windows 98, 2000 or XP. This means that you are not obliged to buy a whole array of expensive hardware if you don't think it is necessary. All this is not to say that Merlin® is only applicable to the smaller retailer. Far from it! With the option of a fully integrated accounts package, full multi-user operation, multi-locational stock, and multi-currency transactions (including the Euro), we are confident that the 'Wizard of Retailing' is equipped to handle any type and size of retail operation. S T A N D A R D F E A T U R E S STOCK CONTROL - the main aim of any Retail Operation is the control and management of all stock - this facility is at the heart of our system. To allow total flexibility and control in this area, to fully identify and locate stock, we use bar codes, product codes, description, category, supplier, type and brand. All products are held in a First In - First Out (FIFO) format so that individual batches can be identified separately for both sales and cost purposes. PACK TYPES - the system allows for the sale of virtually any type of product in any type of packaging and you can choose from one of the following:
PACK SIZES - once you have determined your PACK TYPES you can then enter any number of PACK SIZES - each with its own individual Costings, Retail Pricing and Discount Matrix. PRICE BREAKS - every PACK TYPE and PACK SIZE can have its own individual PRICE BREAK to allow additional discounts to be taken into account once the appropriate sales quantities are reached. TEMPORARY STOCK CODES - in order to allow you to sell items which may not have been booked into the Stock System, the facility exists to create a temporary stock code at the point of sale so that the sale can be completed without delaying the customer. CASH SALES - for sales to any individual who walks in off the street, selects goods and pays for them at the point of sale using either Cash, Cheque, Credit/Debit Cards, Membership Cards, Vouchers, Coupons, Credit Notes or any combination of these. CASH ACCOUNT - for the small tradesman, hotelier, charity group, etc., who normally collects goods and pays cash for them at the time, but who obtains special discounts not available to the normal cash paying customer. CREDIT ACCOUNT - for any tradesman who requires a full Credit Account with follow-up Statements, etc., and who may also obtain special discounts. CASH ON DELIVERY - this option is available for bulky or other items, where a Delivery Service is available from the retailer. STAFF SALES - the system allows for staff sales to take place with, or without, special discounts and then allocated to the relevant Staff Member Account. RETURNS - when a refund is required, the unit total is automatically forced negative and the system offers various options for dealing with this transaction - i.e. cash return, credit note, credit/debit card, voucher, replacement item, etc., etc. PRICE CHANGES - the system allows any price to be changed at the point of sale, with appropriate supervisory authorisation. DISCOUNTS - the system allows for discounts either as a percentage or a value of any price at the point of sale, irrespective of any other discounts or special offers already applied. SET ASIDE - the system is able to 'store' sales transactions indefinitely, for final processing at a later stage, in the event that the customer is unable to complete the transaction at the time. SPECIAL ORDERS - this facility allows you to accept orders for items out of stock or not stocked at all. A deposit would normally be paid and the balance paid on collection or delivery. FULL detail of the order is tracked throughout the system and a 'Special Orders' Report is available at any time. PART EXCHANGE- this allows for the acceptance of goods in part exchange for other goods or services. The system caters for the 'Second Hand Margin Scheme' and automatically calculates the appropriate level of VAT due on the final transaction, once the part exchanged goods are re-sold. Additional features are also available at the point of sale including, Receipt Reprints, Lottery & Scratchcards, Void Line, Void All, No Sales, Banking and Till Reconciliation, Multi-Currency, etc. DON'T DELAY - CALL FOR YOUR FREE DEMONSTRATION DISK TODAY! |
