Smart POS Solutions Ltd (SPS) was originally formed as a specialist consultancy, providing support to companies who were involved in the implementation of Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) Systems.

SPS is a privately owned and operated company, where the shareholders and Directors take an active part in the day to day running of the operation. This relationship ensures both technical and commercial capability, and also means that customers can speak directly to key personnel if operational issues arise.

EPOS Systems are only as good as the software they use and SPS now has a definitive range of industry leading products which are marketed under the Merlin® label. This software has been developed for use in any Windows™ environment, including '95, '98, '2000' and NT. The functionality offered is a natural development of the earlier DOS based Retail-Manager systems, which have been in use since 1984, and are therefore well tried and tested in the market place.

In order to meet the specific requirements of the retail sector, Merlin® is available in a whole range of modules covering all aspects of retailing including: CTN's, Convenience Stores, Supermarkets, Clothing & Footwear Retailers, Sports Shops, Cash & Carry Operations, and many, many more.

In addition to providing software for proprietary EPOS systems, SPS also offers a range of EPOS terminals utilising the latest technology and sourced from the major manufacturers within the industry. However, as an alternative to standard retail terminals, SPS are also able to supply 'Custom Built' units, which are assembled in-house from top quality components and supplied under the 'Super-Serve' label. These units are designed to maximise the funtionality of the software and also offer superb performance and value.

Full training is automatically supplied to all retailers who purchase their EPOS systems from us. In addition, because we know that you may experience small operational difficulties whilst you are getting used to the system, we offer a telephone 'Help-Line' to all those staff trained by us in the use of the various packages - entirely FREE OF CHARGE for the life of the system.

We also have our own Installation and Comissioning staff who can supply all your needs, including data cabling, communications and electrical installations. In the unlikely event of systems failures, we have our own fully equiped workshop facilities and can offer comprehensive on-site service and maintenance at very competitive prices. This service includes the option of loan equipment, should parts not be readily available, ensuring that customer 'down time' is kept to an absolute minimum.
